WHAT? Might as well just look at the painting in an art book? I think NOT! Books are never the same as the real thing! When I went to Paris on a school trip we basically had 20 minutes to go through the Louvre. For anyone who's been there you know there is no way you can see everything in that time period even at the running pace we took. However I wouldn't cut out that experience for the world! The Louvre is wonderful & to see the artwork first hand in person is most definately awe-inspiring! To see the individual brush strokes and to get an idea of the shear magnitude of some paintings is really something amazing! As for the writing about the paintings in French either learn the language or bring a french speaking friend with you! ;) Or you could do your own research ahead of time! I...

If not just ask a fellow tourist or one of the workers of the museum I’m sure many would be glad to let you know what they know & it’ll make your visit all that more enjoyable if you understand what’s going on!
