I will be visiting Paris first time in few weeks and with only few days there i certainly appreciate the input. That it is destroyed is akin to the Brits tearing down the Tower of London which draws tourists by the thousands each year! It was a waste of time to go to the plaza, and the author of the site is correct, I had one day in Paris, had I not gone there, I might have made it to the crypts before they closed at a ridiculously early 4 pm! It's very lively, the Colonne is beautiful and it's one of the best places to people watch. Anyway - my two cents. I expected some remains of this truly historic place, but unfortunatly there is nothing left. But the place is still very nice, especially at sunset.
