Just have a stop there on your way from the Tuileries gardens to the Champs Elysées. It is nice, though, in Summer and in the evening when the fountains are working. Another opportunity is to cross the Place and head to the Seine. You can start a walk on the banks of the river to the Alexander 3 bridge that is worth a look.
