I appreciate the tips about which tourist traps to avoid, but the Louvre is the most appealing feature of Paris to me, and I will certainly make an effort to see as much of it as possible. I sincerely appreciated all the comments here for I now realize that a walking tour may be desirable just to cut in ahead of the lines.

Yes, there are many more things to see than the top three that each tour advertises so I intend to do a lot of touring where perhaps the crowds are not so dense. Thanks for such an interesting website as I agree that most of the top ten places to avoid when pressed for time can wait til another day.

But to Phoenbe about the tip on froglegs and snails, it all depends upon the chef as to whether they are any good or not! Cooked right, they are delicious!

Has he ever heard of Monet, Manet, Michelangelo or is his appreciation of art only limited to a picture of a picture in a magazine? I find it amazing that he suggests that you go out into the streets of a major city to breath fresh air. I think that these evaluations are a crock.

Not sure who is writing this but to travel to Paris and not see the Louvre would be a sin. One can buy a Museum Pass- and not wait in line- or go on Thursday night when it is open late. You can tour with a docent or even hire your own tour guide- it is one of the most beautiful museums in the world- even if you do not see the Mona Lisa. Also, the Musee D'Orsay- smaller, easily seen in a day, is gorgeous. And the Pompidou's collection is formidable- not just modern art, but some fantastic impressionist work and sculpture.
Do not be dismayed by this person's information- go! and you will not be disapointed.

I think people have misunderstood the concept of this website. The author mentioned that it's only for those people who'd like to visit Paris for a short period of time. If you guys are going for more than 2/3 days, then go ahead and visit all these monuments/places! Nothing wrong with it. But if you have a short period of time, things like knowing that the line at the Louvre is effin' long and appreciating art inside it would be a hard task with all the other tourists around would be essential information to allow you to manage your time.

This web site has totally amazed me with its complete lack of understanding of Paris, history, art, architecture or the reason why most people travel.

If you follow the recommendations offered here you may as well stay home, watch Archie Bunker re-runs on nickelodeon and order pizza by phone.

Deep down, you are very shallow.

It's been an educational trip visiting Paris, I travel alone and I enjoyed it a lot.
the subways / underground trains are very easy to follow just always feel free to ask information counter.

If you are coming from CDG Airport going to your hotel you can use the underground subway / train which located inside the airport itself. No worries even you are first time traveller to Paris direction map are easy to understand.

I have failed to visit this place Louvre-Museum but I will try it next time through subways, I was not satisfied with the drive tour though we pay much, going on your own just be guided by subway map is more advisable as it saves cost and your holding your time.
